Newbies section?

What would you like to see?

Newbies section?

Postby Suburban Bushwacker on 02 Jun 2009, 14:33

If it's not to much trouble, how about a section for the complete newbie?
I know a lot of the info is here somewhere, i just seem to be too stupid to; A find it, or B if i do find it to bookmark it.

I think there are quite a few people interested in learning bowhunting, but being based in the UK don't know where or how to start.

What I'd like to see in the section:

Up comming course dates:
IBEP
3D shoots
Tracking
Field butchery
First aid

Online practice for IBEP - I did one once and another poster has mentioned it.

Anyone else?
SBW
Tolerable Craftsman, Terrible Fisherman, and Wannabe Hunter
I also write the blog The Suburban Bushwacker - from Fat Boy to Elk Hunter

OK, good suggestions.

I will try and get something put together. IBEP dates do need to be published yearly and again I will see what I can sort out, please give me some time on these matters :ugeek:
The kill is the satisfying, indeed essential, conclusion to a successful hunt. But, I take no pleasure in the act itself. One does not hunt in order to kill, but kills in order to have hunted. Then why do I hunt? I hunt for the same reason my well-fed cat hunts...because I must, because it is in the blood, because I am the decendent of a thousand generations of hunters. I hunt because I am a hunter - Orteyga

I know everyone is on the case, I really feel the way forward is getting people through the Ibep. Watch this space, I want everyone who has the wish to bowhunt to be able to have the chance.

Cool
I look forward to hearing more.

I scouted the permission in Italy about a month ago and it looks promising

anybody wanting to shoot 3d`s needs to join the nfas , http://www.nfas.net
i think the most important thing in preping for the ibep would be practice with your hunting bow & broadheaded arrows ( its quite important ;) )
